 ummo Meat Company has a proud heritage and a bright future. Zummo's has been a owned and managed by the same southeast Texas family for over 100 years. The foundation for this business was laid over 100 years ago in 1908 by Frank J. Zummo when he organized Zummo Meat Packers. During his life, Mr. Zummo saw the growth and expansion of his business from a one horse and wagon meat purveyor to an enterprise that could process 250,000 pounds of smoked sausage and 3,000 head of cattle each month.
econd generation members Pete and Roy Zummo took the solid foundation left to them by their father and continued to build a business dedicated to serving the meat needs of the surrounding area. In 1987 the third generation of Zummo's; Frank Zummo, Greg Zummo, and Mark Zummo; took over the ownership and day to day management of the business using the same management philosophies which began three generations ago.
hey expanded their product lines to include additional brands of quality smoked sausages and cajun style boudain. Zummo's has also expanded their distribution area.
